Kit for the Unintended Movements of Hydraulic lifts “KMI”
MORIS Italia implemented great improvements to the KMI kit, after more than 1 year of production and distribution of the kit.
The changes now in place may be summarized as follows:
- Factory assembly of the hydraulic actuator inside the power unit
- Usage of a non-return valve on the OUT circuit of the hydraulic actuator
- In-factory connection of the IN circuit to a pressure point on the hydraulic distributor
- Usage of a tap on the hydraulic actuator manometer
- Increase of the KMI device accumulator volume
- Elimination of the pressure port on the rupture valve
- The miniflex hose pipe connecting the hydraulic actuator to the rupture valve (the piloting circuit) has now a variable length
These modifications ensure the following advantages:
- When replacing the hydraulic actuator, the main hydraulic circuit does not need to be discharged
- Piston drive to upper mechanical block is no longer required to re-charge the actuator
- The capacity to hold pressure has been greatly increased
- The connection costs between the control panel and the hydraulic actuator may be optimized (the distance between controller and power pack is less than the distance from the controller to the rupture valve)
The aforementioned modifications will apply to the installations where the hydraulic components are from MORIS. If a retrofit of non-MORIS installation is needed, the current configuration will remain in place (KMI actuator inside the shaft, rupture valve with two holes for piloting and for actuator recharge)
For all cases when the hydraulic actuator is installed inside the power unit, all Customers should communicate to MORIS the length of the hydraulic miniflex hose, from the KMI to the rupture valve (this length is usually the same as the main piping length between the distributor to the rupture valve)
